The heavy duty bumpcutter (or highway straight edge as it is sometimes called) is designed to assist in achieving good “f” numbers and is especially invaluable when making “superflat floors” where near zero tolerances are demanded.
Each part of the floor finishing process can cause disturbance to the floor. the use of dry shake toppings or powerfloats will change the floor tolerance so using the bumpcutter will scrap away the high spots and help move some material into low spots.
The bumpcutter is supplied with outriggers to avoid bowing of the blade.
